10 Extra Hours Wasted on Hiring

12 July 2021

The Story

86% of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises are wasting an additional ten hours a week on recruitment.

Research has found that half of respondents spend at least five hours outside regular office hours on the hiring process.

39% of respondents believe they do not have the right skills or amount of time to dedicate to hiring, and 55% believe that this can lead to making the wrong hire.

The frustrations listed by respondents included limited visibility of the process (21%) and 41% cited difficulties in finding a quality candidate amongst a high volume of ‘average’ applications.

This leads to 23% starting the hiring process again when things don’t work out. The average time to hire is 60 + days.

In addition, a quarter (25%) said that the HR department doesn’t always have an in-depth knowledge of the roles it's hiring.
