Tutor - Sutton Coldfield

£22-27,000 basic + benefits - Commercial
Ref: 412 Date Posted: Monday 12 Feb 2024

Tutor

Our client is a small training company based in the Black Country. They deliver in various locations: Wolverhampton, West Bromwich, Dudley and Walsall, and act as a recruitment service for the NHS and recruit unemployed people for jobs with the Black Country NHS Foundation Trust.

Their delivery module is unique and is based on helping learners build confidence and require skills that will enable them to apply and enjoy a successful interview (at the end of the training course). Their learners are unemployed adults. Their methods are also unique, placing emphasis on offering a full support package to their learners, placing a great deal of effort in making their course a lot of fun. Current success rate is around 80% into work.

They are looking for a charismatic individual who is a people’s person. They care about their learners and therefore need a caring person to join the team. As our client delivers non-accredited learning, they are not bound by the normal stringent qualification restrictions, so in their class, apart from being a friendly and fun place to be, the learning is 100% relevant to the job in hand, i.e. getting unemployed into a job. The candidate needs to have a sense of humour and have empathy with all the people they teach regardless of ability.

Class size can be between 15-25 and an assistant is always in class.

The learning content is written and formatted so the new tutor will not be expected to write class content, for now, but that could change in the future as our client expand the sectors they cover.

No healthcare teaching experience is necessary.

Class hours are 0930-1430 but working hours will be 35 hours per week.

Classes run two weeks concurrently then a week break. They use this time to re-group, debrief, improve and the successful candidate may be asked to attend the office in Oldbury during the fallow week.

Teaching/tutoring experience would be great but not vital. This role would equally suit a newly qualified Tutor as our client will teach the successful applicant exactly how they want their courses delivered. Driving licence essential as they deliver at various locations as already mentioned.

Negotiable salary based on experience.
