Production Planner - Walsall

Our client, a long-established manufacturer & supplier of pressed & assembled components to a multitude of industrial sectors is seeking a talented Production Planner to join their Production Engineering team.

The primary function of the Production Planner is to organize production according to demand and quality standards, ensuring products are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner.

The ultimate goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of production operations.

The company has a solid financial footing and has seen significant investment over recent years, reflecting the ambition of the company owners.

Key duties include:

• Coordinate production workflow for multiple products.
• Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
• Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
• Assign operators and other staff to particular production operations.
• Schedule labour according to production needs.
• Monitor jobs to ensure they finish on time and within budget.
• Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
• Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc).
• Prepare and submit status and performance reports.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Proven experience as a Production Planner
• Able to work well under pressure and prioritise own workload.
• Able to remain calm, patient and polite in all situations.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
• Experience in MRP II
• Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
