Our client, a long established & successful international software house is seeking an IT Technician, based from their Birmingham City Centre office, to work as part of the IT & Infrastructure team to make sure all aspects of Internal & Hosted Infrastructure are managed and maintained to industry best practice and security compliance requirements. You will need to be self-motivated, willing to work hard and be able to fit in well with a small team.

Specific duties will include:

Managing & Deploying all Internal, Private Cloud Hosted and Azure/Office365 Public Cloud Infrastructure to business needs & compliance requirements.
Monitoring all platform usage as part of capacity management and developing efficiencies of existing platform with Infrastructure team.
Assessing and planning product obsolescence replacement.
Ensuring effective Digital Transformation across the internal business in the move to cloud based products and a mobile workforce.
Patching all Infrastructure in line with corporate patching policy and assessing best-fit with security compliance requirements.

The candidate:
 
A computer science or related degree graduate with a high level of computer science content or equivalent qualification/industry experience.
A self-starting individual with 3+ years’ experience in the technology industry, ideally in a managed service provider environment with a strong focus on a centralised management approach.
Exceptional organisational and analytical skills, and attention to detail.
Passion for solving customer problems and identifying areas of improvement;
Keenness to learn new skills and technologies.
Ability to work both independently as well as within a team environment.
Competence, preferably with accreditation, in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
Competence, preferably with accreditation, in Microsoft System Centre product suite (SCCM & SCOM mainly).
Competence, preferably with accreditation, in VMware and MS Hyper-V virtualisation products or any other contemporary enterprise level virtualisation product.
Experience of Azure, MCSA Server 2012 or 2016, VWware vSpehere 5.5 or later, VMware vSAN, SCCM, Powershell scripting and Remote Desktop Services.

Salary is negotiable, subject to experience, but will be very competitive in the region of £45,000.
