Human Resource Manager

Our client, a long established & brand leading FMCG manufacturing business is seeking a Human Resource Manager, based from their prestigious head-office near Redditch.

We are looking for a highly organised and dynamic person to help underpin and grow their human resources department. This is a stand-alone generalist HR role with the opportunity for the successful candidate to mould and make this their own.

Purpose:

To work closely with the business’s senior managers in order to develop an HR agenda that closely supports the overall aims of the organization

Responsible for People & Culture Development with a key focus on the growth strategy plan of the business.  

Specific duties will include: 

Responsible for the work structure by updating job requirements & job descriptions for all positions.

Responsible for the organization’s staff by establishing a recruiting, testing and interviewing program; counselling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analysing exit interviews; recommending changes.

Maintain a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling & conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring & scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning and implementing pay structure revisions.

Ensure planning, monitoring and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach.

Review and implement employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits by studying & assessing benefit needs & trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining & evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts.

Ensure legal compliance by monitoring & implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.

Responsible for management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies & procedures.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Make a significant contribution to business decision making, strategic planning discussions and operational aspects of the people agenda.

Demonstrable ability to apply judgement & influence challenging individuals and deal with complex situations.

Experience sought:

 

Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR practices that has been honed through practical application.

Resilient, practical and a self-starter; comfortable with working on own and in teams.

Ability to combine a commercial and pragmatic approach with a high level of sensitivity and discretion.

Ability to effectively manage, counsel, coach and develop others

Capable of working with senior stakeholders and managing the balance between their requirements and business imperatives in a robust and assertive way.

You will be experienced and competent for all aspects of ER, hearing and resolving employee grievances; counselling employees and supervisors.

Professionally qualified. A postgraduate qualification in a Business or Human Resource discipline is desirable; CIPD qualified.
