Business Development Engineer / Account Manager

Flexible UK location

£35-40,000 basic + Bonus (c£8,000) + Company Car, Pens & benefits

A new Account Manager role being created by this profitable & expanding specialist in the manufacture of precision micro components, tubular components & sub-assemblies for the medical device OEM sector. Utilising state of the art Laser & EDM technology they develop & manufacture in a wide range of metals, producing highly accurate components used in medical instruments, delivery systems & implants. Recent major investment has seen the customer base grow in the UK, Europe & North America, in line with their strategic expansion & customer diversification plans.

This new role is being created to support the Business Development Director & will initially be responsible for account managing a number of existing UK customer accounts, growing revenue, expanding penetration & identifying opportunities for revenue growth within the UK. The role involves selling the company's medical device component & sub-assembly manufacturing capabilities into OEM accounts, involving direct involvement at all levels from engineer to board and from initial enquiry stage, through design to production sign off. You will work closely with development engineers & production to ensure successful completion of all projects. Subsequent progression is likely to expand your remit to European & Global customers as your experience and knowledge of the market grows.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified mechanical engineer (or similar) who has progressed into a technical sales role, who is accustomed to selling technical components and services into manufacturing industries. Experience of the medical device sector could be advantageous, but is by no means essential as full training will be given - this is a high precision, high quality environment that demands strong attention to detail & the ability to manage projects across different customers, the ability to engage with customer engineers in technical discussions, and procurement contacts for commercial aspects.

The role can be based from home, so the location is flexible provided you are within reasonable distance of major motorway networks. Full home office facilities will be provided.
