Warehouse Manager – Walsall

My client is a leading manufacturer of bespoke, handmade quality products. Due to rapid growth, they are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to help promote on-time delivery, accurate stock holding and perpetuate an exceptional customer experience. This role is key to the future success of the business and you'll need to be the kind of person that thrives on shaping the processes that link sales to stock control and delivery.

This role will see you training, developing and managing the incumbent team, to promote an efficient working environment. You will possess leadership and motivational skills, to drive your team’s results efficiently within the supply chain processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and monitor the flow of all goods in and out
  • Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
  • Ensure systems are accurate and up to date
  • Organise despatch of goods with courier companies, including Export.
  • Ensure regular PI counts are undertaken and the stock is accurate.
  • Ensure stock take process is completed and results investigated and communicated.
  • Develop and establish best practices within warehouse management procedures.
  • Implement KPI’s
  • Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies
  • Monitoring staff performance and progress
  • Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met/exceeded
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment.

The successful applicant will possess/be:

  • 5 years’ experience in warehousing and 3 years in a managing role
  • Experience managing multiple and varied Products (The role will be looking after in excess of 4000 SKUs)
  • Experience in managing domestic and international shipments
  • Able to work under pressure on their own initiative to deadlines without close supervision.
  • Excellent in time management, communications, decision making, human relations, presentation and organization skills.
  • Able to work as part of a team (job is not deskbound).
  • Extremely methodical with a keen eye for detail.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, and the ability to learn new IT skills quickly.
  • Able to implement processes and procedures
  • Customer focused with a strong customer service ethos
  • Current warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • High commitment - not controlled by the clock
  • A forklift license – this is desirable

Package:

Up to £28k + 22 days holiday + Bank holidays.
