Product Manager

Our client, a long established & leading FMCG manufacturing company within the cosmetic/health & beauty space, is seeking a Product Manager to create, develop and deliver exciting and innovative all year round (AYR) products to retain and recruit consumers.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Work closely with Head of Product to create AYR briefs that hit key range review dates.

Full management of the assigned projects from cradle to grave, including briefing, communicating and driving progress with suppliers (manufacturing, packaging, designers, fragrance houses and test houses etc.), ensuring internal stakeholders are kept up-to-date, cost/timing negotiations, artwork review etc.

Assist Head of Product in putting the projects through the appropriate internal processes in order to gain sign off at the right decision points.

Creatively sell-in ideas to the business in a variety of different ways to ensure stakeholder buy-in.

Work closely and form strong relationships with the internal cross-functional team (Marketing, Category, Technical and Quality, Design, Supply) in order to deliver projects efficiently.

Full cross-functional CPA management to ensure the coordination and delivery of the existing and innovative products on time and within budget.

Work closely with Technical and Quality to stay up-to-date on any regulatory or quality changes that are needed to improve the product offering.

Ensure there are samples of product, packaging and fragrances for when internal or external parties need them.

Communicate any product changes to the internal team in a timely, efficient manner.

Creation of a multitude of documents, including both internal and external-facing presentations on the NPD.

Manage the process of an AYR brochure.

Review various documents across the business to ensure they are factually correct from a Product perspective.

Ensuring that projects are correctly setup, maintained and ultimately discontinued in Netsuite. Evaluate in-house data alongside Category, to make suggestions for existing product development to drive margin enhancements and/or retention and recruitment of new consumers.

Competitor analysis, both on-line and in-store to collate product ideas for range development.

Follow all company house-keeping procedures and standards.

 

Personal requirements:

An ability to deliver personal care products to market that are on brand, high-quality in a fast-paced environment.

Passionate and highly organised.

Remain calm in high-pressurised environments.

Experienced in multi-tasking and reprioritisation based on last-minute demands.

A flexible hands-on approach and a willingness to get involved.

Self-motivated and dedicated.

A high level of interpersonal skills that allow for effective working relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

Ideally strong experience in cosmetics product management - at least 2+ years’ experience working as a product developer leading cosmetic products from concept through to launch.

Passionate and able to produce innovative and appealing well-rounded concepts for new and existing projects by working with the appropriate teams.

Able to influence and lead cross-functional teams – this is essential in order to coordinate and deliver projects, on time and in full, from cradle to grave.

Excellent organisational and communication skills – you will need to communicate your ideas and project progress effectively whilst still delivering on key tasks.

Adaptable, flexible team player – you will be fully flexible in your approach to the role and must have the ability to prioritise and complete multiple tasks and flex your communication style while working to challenging deadlines.

Proven negotiation skills – you will be working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and will need to negotiate on time and cost regularly.

Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure with a keen eye for detail.

Strong network and relationships with industry suppliers.

Skills using Microsoft programmes such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Creating timelines is key.

 

On offer is a basic salary in the region of £38-43,000 plus bonus scheme
