Microsoft Infrastructure Consultant

Glasgow

Our client, a leading independent ICT services provider and Technology Services Integrator, is seeking a Microsoft Infrastructure Consultant (MCSA/MCP) to strengthen their team in Glasgow, working as subject matter experts and trusted advisor in everything Microsoft O365 related.

Key Duties:

Work with multiple teams of specialists, covering the full Microsoft stack, delivering consulting assignments.

Manage and advise the requirements gathering process by meeting with stakeholders to define the business and functional requirements and system goals and bring these in line with the capabilities of Microsoft technologies.

Reengineering business processes/ Business Process Management and advise on enhancements based on best practice and Microsoft knowledge.

Manage business change for clients – Stakeholder Engagement, Change Impact Assessment and Change Readiness.

Work in a variety of industries e.g. Retail, Utilities, Manufacturing, Transport, Health.

Candidate Skills:

A firm understanding and general experience and knowledge of Microsoft technologies (including the out-of-the-box functionalities and limits) and able to leverage it to create powerful solutions.

Design, implementation and management experience of at least three of the following MS core technologies: Office 365, Active Directory, Exchange, Hyper V, Remote access and Virtualisation

A desire to continually develop your knowledge of new functionality in the Microsoft platforms, keeping on top of roadmaps, studying for certifications and being ahead of the curve in regard to what the future holds and how it can benefit clients.

Good working knowledge of disaster recovery and high availability. 

Experience of migrating from previous versions or third-party systems. 

Experience troubleshooting. 

Excellent consulting skills:

Flexible attitude, critical thinking and the ability to engage with stakeholders at every level.

Demonstrable skills in facilitating workshops, gathering and documenting requirements, translating requirements into business processes, stakeholder engagement, creative thinking, presentation and coaching.

Ability to learn new technologies quickly through self-learning.   

Excellent organisation and planning skills. 

Full lifecycle experience of ITIL development and project delivery methodologies such as Prince II.
