Business Development Associate

Shoreditch, East London

An ambitious BDA is required by this SaaS software provider for the social housing sector. Initially, the role will be based in the offices but once you are trained there is working from home option. This role is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in consultative sales in a supportive workplace. If you have experience with compliance, social housing, or marketing skills you will be considered but please be aware that this is a new business sales position and therefore carries a sales target with the commission.

Duties will include

  • researching and identifying new business opportunities. This could include new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services
  • seeking out and reaching out to appropriate contacts in relevant organisations
  • generating leads and cold calling prospective customers including campaign follow-ups and outbound emails
  • meeting with prospective clients face to face or over the phone for initial qualification meetings through to demonstration, negotiation, and close meetings
  • demonstrating the SaaS software to prospective customers
  • creating and nurturing relationships with prospective customers and strategic partners
  • understanding the needs of your prospective customers and being able to respond effectively with a clear plan of how our product will meet or exceed our prospective customers’ requirements.
  • generating and maintaining an accurate sales pipeline
  • Accurately updating and recording interactions, contacts, tasks, notes and key business information in the CRM.
  • helping to plan sales campaigns and strategic planning to set aims and objectives for developing and improve the business and its success.
  • negotiating with prospective customers, and suppliers in some cases
  • owning and delivering against a sales target for the business
  • carrying out sales forecasts and analysis and presenting your findings to senior management
  • developing the business sales and marketing strategy alongside your team lead
  • handling and responding to Invitation to Tender, tender/bid responses, frameworks, and contract review situations.
  • Having a good understanding of the business's products or services and being able to articulate this to others
  • seeking ways of improving the way the business operates
  • attending seminars, conferences, and events where appropriate
  • keeping abreast of trends and changes in the compliance and social housing world.

Salary & Package

  • Salary £27,000+
  • £25,000 expected OTE uncapped

What to expect

  • You will be given an iPhone and MacBook Air and all the latest software to perform your job.
  • On-job coaching and support will be provided.
  • The position is officially an office-based role however they are still working from home at the moment and will revert to a flexible working arrangement (in terms of location) in the future, but you may be required to attend the office twice a week, client meetings permitting. This role desires a self-starter who can manage their diary effectively and meet KPI expectations for deals, tasks, calls, and sales activity.  
  • You may at times be expected to work away (overnight) for client meetings or conferences, or to work from the office in East London.
