Assistant Accountant
C£25,000 basic salary
Our well established client, based Bromsgrove, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their accounts team and support their continued growth. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for providing support with the management accounts process and the production of monthly analytical reports, including variance analysis.
Duties will include:
Maintain General Ledger to Trial Balance
Maintain Sales Ledger including Invoicing & Recharges
Direct Debit Collections
Maintain Purchase Ledger
Supplier BACS Payments
Maintain Fixed Assets register, including additional, disposal and depreciation
Maintain Deferred Revenue Account
Maintain Petty Cash & Credit Cards
Ensure Income & Expenditure correctly recorded in the P&L
Accrual & Prepayments
Credit Control
Balance Sheet Control Account Reconciliations
Deal with Customer & Supplier Queries
Manage Customer Contracts
Produce budgets and cash flow forecasts
Generate ad hoc invoices as required
Prepare & submit VAT returns
Maintain Cash Book
Banking
To be considered for this role:
Qualified by Experience / AAT qualified (2 years+ experience in a finance department)
Excel skills at intermediate to advanced level
Experience of using Sage Line 50 is desirable
Due to location you need to be able to drive and own a car
Positive and flexible work attitude
Team player but all able to work on own Initiative
On offer:
Salary is c£25,000 and our client offers a positive working environment. Hours of business are Monday - Friday 8.30 - 5pm. 23 days holiday initial which increases after length of service.
