An excellent opportunity to join a multinational producer & supplier of exotic metals & alloys, with operations world-wide. They supply both materials and value added services including laser cutting, machining & other services into a prestigious customer base including Aerospace OEMs, 1st tier suppliers (such as forging & fabrication), medical, defence, marine, oil & gas, and through distribution channels throughout the UK.
The UK Sales Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of business with existing customers, both direct with OEMs & at all levels of their supply chain. Development of new business avenues & opportunities both within the customer base & in new sectors, working closely with marketing to identify & pursue additional business potential. Managing sales through distribution channels, maintaining regular contact & keeping fully abreast of market trends & opportunities. Supported by, and managing an Internal Sales team who provide regular customer liaison, prepare quotes & manage sales orders through to delivery. Seeking opportunities to add value with additional processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong & stable commercial sales career, with a technical or engineering bias. Experience of technical sales into the Aerospace sector would be advantageous, but is not essential, you could easily have related experience in forgings, metals or machining services / machined components. You will, however have experience of technical sales into OEMs and a good understanding of the technical & commercial relationships between supplier, manufacturer & supply chain. An Engineering related degree would be advantageous, but not essential for someone with the right experience & track record. You will be fully IT literate, comfortable with spreadsheets & complex contracts & documents.
This is a multi-faceted role requiring an accomplished individual with strong commercial awareness, an ability to manage multiple customers & routes to market, and capable of operating at Senior Management level. There is scope to consider candidates with potential to step up to this role as the next logical progression in their career.
Negotiable basic salary, bonus potential 12 - 15%, car allowance (c550/month) & full benefits package including private health.
