Description:
Our client, one of the worlds leading steel manufacturers, seeks a Technical Sales Manager - Metallurgy. They supply products into a whole host of industries, spanning some 100,000 customers, including automotive, brown & white goods, computer/IT and telecommunications. The recruitment of a high calibre Technical Sales Manager - Metallurgy is fundamental to their continued success
Reporting into the Divisional Manager, as Technical Sales Manager - Metallurgy, the successful candidates responsibilities will include (but certainly wont be limited to):
Sales Support - communicating with existing and prospective customers to provide technical support and advice in order to promote sales of the companies products;
Applications - finding new application area's for the companies grades in the 'high performance' steel sector, away from their traditional business.
Technical & Sales Training - Maintaining contact with International customer service colleagues and maintaining knowledge of product development. Providing sales colleagues with technical information and sales arguments to maximise sales opportunities; providing technical product training internally and externally as required, and take part as requested in any sales or technical training required.
Technical Marketing & Publicity - Providing, as part of the marketing team, support in the planning and execution of activities to develop profitable company sales. Preparing publicity material, supporting sales presentations at customer meetings, exhibitions etc.
Technical Meetings - represent the company at International "Technical Exchange" meetings, and represent the company as required at UK seminars.
Customer Complaints - Investigating technical complaints from customers and providing advice on corrective action. Liaising with the Sales Administration Manager in the event of material defect requiring further action.
Quality Assurance - Fully understand the group quality assurance process and deputise if required for the Sales Administration Manager in his function of QA, undertaking specific tasks as required to ensure the correct operation of the quality system.
To apply for this role you should have a metallurgical background in Mechanical Engineering or Special Alloyed Steels. You should be outgoing, enthusiastic and although working as part of a team, be prepared to work on your own, investigating new avenues for the company to explore.
