Long established, successful & growing Midlands based sheet metal fabrication company are looking to strengthen their sales function with the addition of a Technical Sales Engineer. Substantial recent investment in new technology & a move to larger premises has enabled them to further diversify their capabilities & offer additional services to customers.
The Technical Sales Engineer will be the focus point for customers, managing existing relationships at all levels & supporting the Sales Manager. Specific responsibilities will include:
Managing enquiries to prepare tenders, proposals & quotations.
Liaising with existing customers on new & current projects.
Providing pre-sales & post-sales support.
Working closely with engineering teams to ensure optimum solutions are offered to customers.
Constant customer liaison to resolve issues & identify new opportunities.
Identifying & pursuing new business opportunities both in existing & new sectors.
Providing customers with accurate product & application advice.
Whilst predominantly office based initially, there will be strong prospects for this role to become more field based as experience level grows.
The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background and the ability to read & understand CAD drawings. Excellent communication, organisational & time management skills, with a natural ability to liaise effectively with customers on both a technical & commercial basis. Experience in customer liaison in an engineering / technical / manufacturing environment is essential - technical sales experience would be an added bonus. Strong IT literacy & full UK driving licence.
