An exciting opportunity to put your leadership & sales management skills into practice with this Midlands based authorised distributor of branded sports clothing & equipment, who supply exclusively into the health & leisure sectors.
Restructuring has created the need to recruit a Sales Manager who will be the focal point for both internal & external sales, key account management & business development teams. This role has a wide remit including:
Managing sales & marketing functions
Analysing sales figures, margins, & prices to ensure profitability of sales
Developing sales strategies for growing existing customer sales & identifying new routes to market
Supporting all sales activities, motivating the sales team to achieve targets
Recruitment & training of sales staff
Market research & establishing customer feedback
Improving communication between field sales team & other company departments to ensure excellent customer service
Working closely with the Marketing Manager to bring new products & brands to market
Driving sales growth & encouraging a positive sales team culture
The ideal candidate will have a background in sales management & be comfortable managing both internal & field based people. You'll need to be full of new ideas, initiatives & have the ability to put these ideas into practice in a positive & structured way. Experience in a distribution type business would be useful, but sector is completely open so could range from FMCG to industrial - it's all about understanding the relationship between customer, distributor & supplier, and the implications of this on management of the sales function. You'll be fully IT literate including use of excel spreadsheets, together with an organised & logical approach. This would suit someone looking for an open environment where creativity, character & drive will be appreciated and effective hard work rewarded.
This role reports to & will work closely with the MD, and so affords excellent career development potential. The bonus structure is based on realistic targets.
