Our client, a long established, profitable & leading supplier of FMCG products (health & beauty category) is seeking a talented & inspirational Sales Controller, as part of their ongoing expansion, to help focus strategy and drive performance across all channels.
The business is recognised as an industry leader in terms of product innovation with a diverse and complex branded SKU portfolio, and currently have significant penetration across the UK s leading grocery, pharmacy, fashion and departmental store retailers, distributors and export channels.
Reporting to and working closely with the Sales Director, you will devise & implement a rolling strategy to achieve profitable growth that will heavily influence overall company performance. Acting as the number 2 to the Sales Director, you will often be required to deputise during busier periods.
Strong leadership is therefore key, with the ability to add value to the current, & very experienced, NAM/Export/Category Management/Customer Service team, as well as senior & buying level customer contacts.
Given that one of the key aims of the role is to spot opportunities for development, clearly the role will work closely with the NPD, Category and Brand Marketing teams. Therefore a strong appreciation of category management principles and product innovation processes are required in order that you may inspire and add-value both internally and with customers.
Candidates from all FMCG backgrounds will be considered for the role, however those with exposure to branded environments, and an understanding of the complex challenges faced, will be viewed favourably. Your application will stand out if you have both a strong marketing & sales focus to your CV.
Ideally we are looking for someone who has blue chip experience but might also be familiar with playing a strategic role within a smaller business. We are looking for a solid track record in people management, used to a team size of 2 to 10 perhaps.
Experience of dealing direct to retail as well as through distribution partners would be an advantage, and of course a proven track record of negotiation & profitable growth is a prerequisite.

A basic salary in the region of 65-75,000 is on offer plus lucrative bonus/commission scheme and car/car allowance.
