Public Relations Co-ordinator

Interested in PR? We are looking for a Public Relations Co-ordinator to join the Public Relations team of our client on a contract basis. Working as a key member of the PR team, the purpose of the role is to manage the day to day running of the public relations departments administration while acting as first point of contact for all media relations, and assisting the PR team on key projects and press activities.
The role of PR has an important input into developing corporate reputation and brand strategy, and aims to positively differentiate the company from its competitors as a major brand. The jobholder will be an integral member of a small in-house team and will need to establish themselves rapidly with key internal and external customer groups.
Key responsibilities include:
Acting as first point of contact for the team, you will enjoy providing great service to all internal and external customers.
Managing the key support systems you will ensure the effective running of the office.
Maintaining and updating the media contacts database and managing and tracking press cuttings.
Assisting the team on projects and events.
As well as a degree level qualification in PR or a similar marketing discipline this challenging role requires an eye for detail, well developed administration skills, excellent time management, prioritising, organisational and communication skills. You will enjoy helping people and have the ability to think creatively and act independently with initiative and sensitivity. You will also display a flexible approach and be able to work under pressure and to deadlines. A good command of written English, and a high level of competence with Word, Excel, Freelance Graphics and databases are required. Knowledge of Photoshop is desirable. This role would suit either a raw graduate seeking PR experience or an individual seeking the opportunity to work within a blue chip environment.
