My client is seeking a highly experienced Bid Manager to complement the Sales & Marketing team.
Job Purpose:
Own the proposal development process from concept through to presentation to the customer. Manage and motivate the proposals team ensuring that proposal activities are focused on winning orders and continuously improving conversion rates. Lead the development of powerful presentations that communicate we understand what the customer needs, we know what the customer values, we will supply them what they need and they can trust our solution will meet their needs. Lead the proposals team focused on converting proposals to sales. Ensure that all deliverables that support the proposal are delivered to deadlines and are signed off at the key stages. Ensure that all proposals meet the customers value drivers, clearly defines the scope of work and services to both the customer and the internal delivery team.
   Primary responsibility for the preparation, review, approval and presentation of the proposal.
   To maintain a Customer/Prospect focus and to strive at all times to promote and match the needs of the Customer/Prospects in line with the objectives and needs as defined by my client.
   Leading the ongoing development of the bid process, proposal design and structure focused on winning new business.
   Ensuring the company remains at the forefront of innovative proposals and presentations.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
   Develop skills of the proposals team focused on improving proposal quality, efficiency in using business systems and ensuring that they have all the tools and knowledge necessary to produce high quality proposals.
   Ensure that the value selling process is integrated into processes and working practices of the proposals team focused.
   Managing the internal team and resources required to develop and present the proposal to the customer.
   Work with Sales team to prepare a proposal that meets the customer value drivers. Attend meetings on site with customers when needed.
   Ensure that all proposals are prepared in a timely manner to comply with internal review requirements and customer requirements.
   Lead the review and categorisation of all request for quotes (RFQs).
   Continuously review system designs focused on identifying potential areas of cost saving and revenue increase whilst maintaining technical standards.
   Preparation of briefing documents for Go/No Go review meetings.
   Manage the preparation and initial assessment of the technical, financial, schedule or any other unusual risks associated with a proposal.
   Clearly define the Scope of Work and Services offered to the customer and identify any clarifications or exceptions to the customers enquiry.
   Maintain knowledge of approved company vendors, estimating methods as well as project execution procedures.
   Obtain feedback from projects for lessons learned to incorporate in future proposals.
   Continuously review and develop the proposal development process.
   Ensure proposal files are kept up to date in line with procedures.
   Organise, lead and communicate outcome of post bid reviews.
   Ensure that Configurator is fully utilised and kept up to date with all relevant information in line with procedures.
   Ensure that CRM is kept up to date with all relevant information in line with procedures.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

   Organisational skills and time management.
   Able to work in a team environment (Project Management, Purchasing, Sales, Marketing, Service, etc.).
   The ability to travel widely and at short notice.
   Bid development and management experience
   Engineering degree or equivalent.
   Development of clear persuasive presentations that support our proposals.
   Project management , scheduling, planning and reporting
   Has ability to lead and manage a team
   IT literate with experience of Microsoft office packages.
