Description:
My clients are a major food company, who are looking to add new managers to their purchasing team.
This position is accountable for supporting cost effective procurement/contracting of products and services while achieving or exceeding customer and business needs.
Implements the organisations strategic and tactical plans while driving action across functions, business. Acts as a key cost and business management resource to the procurement organisation, customer organisation, and senior management across multiple functions, divisions and geographic locations.
Work with cross-functional team members to achieve team objectives in supplier/market analysis, utilising unique procurement practices/tools to capitalise on business opportunities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsibilities include:
Procurement activities for all Indirect Spend including Capex, Engineering, MRO, IT services and HR service, supporting all major business units across the Group..
Implements operational plans, which support departmental and corporate strategies.
Compiles market research data, inclusive of economic analysis for historical buying/expenditure trends along with projected supply/pricing estimates/models.
ESSENTIAL JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements include:
Bachelors degree, external certification programs or business experience in procurement and related functions, typically obtained in 2+ years.
Comprehensive knowledge of business principles such as procurement, quality, materials logistics management, business/contract law, licensing, leasing, finance and accounting.
Strong knowledge and experience of analysis techniques, activity based costing methodology, project management, and business management.
Good judgement and decision making abilities to identify customer/company needs, identify inefficiencies, opportunities and to develop well reasoned proposals concerning the management of various commodities
