Overview:
Our client, a Glasgow based, market leading manufacturer and distributor of industrial safety and environmental consumables, seeks a Head of Direct Sales to spearhead direct sales efforts across the UK. Furthermore the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing & executing the company sales plan, revenue management, and working alongside the senior management to develop the ongoing commercial strategy.
Duties:
Responsible for servicing, developing and expanding business across the UK
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities throughout the UK
Devise and implement a business development sales strategy that secures profitable sales growth in line with corporate objectives
Responsible for sales team targets ensuring Key Performance Indicators are met to further develop profitable sales
Lead successful contract negotiations involving both technical and commercial issues
Business Strategy Development: define, refine, test and implement strategic plans including customer needs assessments
Review and Report on sales team results to executive team
Visiting and contacting customers regularly to stay informed on current and future opportunities as well as build strong customer relationships and meeting profitable sales goals
Develop & Recommend solutions based on specifications, needs, and goals of the customer
Conduct seminars, trainings, and information exchanges with clients and potential clients
Taking a lead role in key customer relationship management and development
Candidate profile:
7+ years experience in selling industrial consumables in a manufacturing environment
3+ years team management experience with a proven track record of success
Excellent negotiation skills and able to communicate with customers at all levels
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office - excel, word, PowerPoint, etc)
Excellent organizational skills
Proven track record of personally developing profitable new business and developing sales professionals
Package:
35-40,000 plus benefits including company car.
