Due to positive growth and huge potential the UK's leading online gaming company is looking for a skilled mathematician to join their ever expanding team. They have more than doubled in size over the last 18 months & following their recent expansion to fully refurbished state of the art offices, have ambitious growth plans throughout 2016. The mathematician & probability exec will design & calculate game probability out comes with the ability to think outside the box. Based upon your mathematics & probabilities skill you will develop game strategies to improve the business.
You will be responsible for creating & developing all the mathematics & probabilities for all newly developed online games. Using well developed multitasking and priority setting skills, you will work as part of a growing team, with guidance from the head of game development. You will also be required to report your findings to less mathematically minded business leaders.
Within this role you will be the numbers expert reporting to and working with heads of departments including game development & finance. You will work with key decision-makers on a daily basis as a data-driven service provider for strategic decision making.
Responsibilities
  Liaise with game designers & programmers to develop new algorithms & game probabilities
  Design and develop algorithms to work at scale and to extract insight from large data sets
  Build and maintain complex statistical models that learn from and scale to hundreds of thousands
  Monitor and optimise product performance for revenue and retention
  Conduct proactive analysis and modelling to uncover hidden opportunities and then communicate insights to the game development team.
  To be successful in this role you will need interpretation skills as you will be expected to combine available data, appropriate methodologies and understanding of products and trends to deliver the best possible evidence to support business decisions.
  Your strong attention to detail will ensure that you are maintaining various active data streams in terms of detail and quality.
You are
  A champion for the use of numbers & probabilities
  A professional who works closely with other departments to solve complex problems involving data analytics
  Curious and passionate about numbers and discovering new trends from past algorithms & histories
  Proficient in pulling data, running reports, creating segmentations and performing research
  Experienced in building and managing high performing models that support and push the business to excel
  Excellent with Excel, and enjoy combining mathematic & probability skills with business acumen
Required skills
  Proven experience in mathematics & probability
  Experience performing quantitative analysis, ideally for an internet or technology company
  Strong academic background (e.g. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field)
  Excellent with Excel - logical, text, date, statistical, lookup and reference functions, charts and formatting are a must
  Ability to calculate accurate conversion percentages, averages, weighted averages, deviations, correlations and various other KPI's used to monitor and drive business growth
  Ability to create visual representations of data (using amongst other products Excel and PowerPoint)
  Strong communication and presentation skills
  Able to explain what the maths means to a non-mathematical business person.
  Demonstrated capacity for developing and understanding business and product strategy
Would be considered an advantage:
  Understanding of Gambling & gambling probabilities
  Understanding of the principles, strengths and shortcomings of a wide range of analytic techniques including regression (in its multiple forms)
  Experience in algorithm development
