A new role being created by this rapidly expanding & award winning online business. Established for many years, they have more than doubled in size over the last 12 months & continue to grow strongly. This has created the need to recruit a commercially minded & suitably qualified Finance Manager. Reporting to the Head of Finance & Commerce, you will manage the finance team on a daily basis whilst also undertaking numerous development projects to help facilitate the company expansion.
Duties will include:
Preparation of the companys annual statutory financial statements and year end audit file for review.
Liaising with external auditors.
Preparation of quarterly VAT returns for submission to HMRC.
Overseeing corporation tax liabilities and payments.
Filing relevant Companies House documents.
Internal Management Reporting
Preparation of timely monthly management accounts and performance commentary for review by the Head of Finance & Commerce and for distribution to the Directors and Shareholders.
Interpreting detailed financial information including comparison to forecasts.
Overseeing the purchase ledger including payment runs and dealing with supplier queries.
Performing cost reduction exercises and negotiating with suppliers.
Performing detailed monthly income reconciliations.
Supervision and review of regular bank reconciliations.
Review of intercompany and other reconciliations.
Monitoring of the companys fixed asset register.
Overseeing the processing of the monthly payroll and preparation of P11ds etc
Overseeing and checking sage postings to ensure accuracy.
Day to day supervision of the finance team.
Monitoring of bank balances and effectively controlling cash flow.
Processing and reconciliation of monthly affiliate payments.
Maintenance of banking relationships.
Internal Controls
Ensuring that internal controls and processes operate correctly and effectively.
Playing a central part in the development of the finance team, in particular its systems and development of financial management mechanisms that minimise financial risk, as the company continues to grow.
Documenting of business systems.
Key skills required
Qualified accountant (CMA/ACA/ACCA) or qualified by experience preferably in a commercial environment.
Excellent analytical skills.
The ability to think logically and clearly and the confidence to make decisions and use own judgement.
Experience of managing projects efficiently.
The ability to handle pressure and work to deadlines.
Team management skills and experience to help and support the finance staff.
A positive attitude and confident communication skills to deal with other departments, suppliers and third parties on a daily basis.
Self-motivated with the ability to organise and prioritise work in order to ensure that the finance function meets the business needs in a timely manner.
Excellent time management skills.
Intermediate / advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Sage experience highly desirable although not essential.
