Application / Technical Sales Engineer
A leading Supplier of Abrasive tools is looking for an Application / Technical Sales Engineer with sound B2B experience to join their team.
With a specialist product portfolio, they rely on solid Engineering and Application knowledge within the Abrasives industry to continue the current business growth. You will be tasked with providing Technical and Application knowledge to both Clients and the Sales team, whilst generating new business and maximising the growth of current accounts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to the sales team and its customers, thereby identifying solutions to the customers needs.
Specific focus for this role is around new business development measured in the company through target account program.
Undertake customer process testing which may require data and materials analysis. Develop this into practical customer recommendations.
Understand and explain to the customer, how different materials perform in different grinding situations.
Provide management information, for both the customer and Stakeholders.
Deliver and attend training sessions.
Support the introduction of new products / solutions to the market.
Deliver customer service requirements.
Communicate all knowledge gained clearly about market intelligence, customers and competitors through the CRM system (C-View)
Increase customer knowledge / awareness of products / solutions through visits to key decision makers, training, and supporting marketing initiatives.
Support other team members during absence / holidays by covering their activities.
Comply with business requirements for Safety, Health and the Environment.
Any other activities commensurate with the nature and level of the role.
Personal Qualities:
  Ideally you will possess an engineering degree, otherwise a formal technical background with grinding and / or machining experience.
  Knowledge of Makino, Maegerle, Blohm Machinery is essential
  Once in the position, the post holder will be expected to achieve technical competence, as defined by the in house university training programme.
  Demonstrate an understanding of the market where grinding and materials science is applicable, preferably within the aerospace market.
  Understand how different materials perform in different grinding situations.
  Possess proven relationship building skills.
  Commercial awareness, to understand the customers business needs and identify plans to deliver them.
  Effective influencing and communication skills, with the ability to understand and explain technical concepts to different levels.
  Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  Negotiation skills.
  Using networks to understand and influence opportunities.
  Flexible approach to working
  Computer Literate - Microsoft Office Suite
  Full driving licence.
Remuneration - 40,000 - 45,000 (good understanding of the industry) Circa 65,000 (Candidates meeting full competencies of the role) Plus Company Car + Bonus + Pension + Medical.
